JOY JAN JONES is a versatile performance artist in high demand. She is an independent, multi-genre singer, instrumentalist, writer, producer, curator, model & actress. NYC based, she has been featured at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, New York Fashion Week & NYC’s annual Village Halloween Parade. She has been highlighted in TimeOutNY Magazine twice & became a contributor to Classical Singer Magazine in 2021, with her provocative & very personal article, The Four Corners.

Born & raised in Houston Texas, Joy has a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Sam Houston State University & a Master of Music in Performance from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.

While in Potsdam she won 1ST PLACE in the New York State MTNA vocal competition & 1ST PLACE in the Classical Singer vocal competition at the graduate university level.

She completed her graduate thesis & initial training in Music Therapy as well. Working particularly with adolescents bereaving or living with neuro-divergent and/or neuro-developmental disorders, like herself. After graduating she expanded her practice in music therapy to senior citizens, especially those suffering with dementia.


Joy produces live performance art pulling from several genres of music. Coltrane to Baroque, Gospel to German Lieder, & Yacht Rock to Ancient Chant.

She is a recording artist & song-writer appearing in studio credits since the age of 12. Fearless, she began singing publicly at the age of 3, prompted or not.

Her father, Roy Jones, also a singer, helped hone her early skills by bringing her to his weekend wedding gigs. They soon became a duo, & continued to wedding sing until Joy graduated from high school.


Joy is Associate Music Director & Principle Cantor at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in East Hampton, singing there since 2013.
